Deontology:
Someone who lives their life by encompassing the ideas of Deontology is called a Kantian. This is because Deontology was founded based on the principles of Immanuel Kant, a famous German philosopher. A Kantian must always abide by the Universability Principle. Kant says that this means that you should, “Act only according to that maxim which you an at the same time will that it should become a universal law without contradiction.” In simpler words, as Kantian, you must only do things that you think everyone else has the right to do. Kant also came up with the Formula of Humanity, stating, “Act so that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in that of another, always as an end, and never as a mere means.” This means that you should not use a person for something that only benefits yourself, argo, do not just see them as a means to an end but as a human being. It has been discussed that this does not apply to objects in the realm of work because if it did, society would no longer function.
